Flight cancellation update

Tuesday 20 April

Last updated: 08:50, 19 April 2010

Flights are cancelled at all BAA airports until 01:00 on Tuesday 20 April at the earliest. This is due to volcanic ash spreading across the UK from Iceland which has caused restrictions to be placed on the use of UK airspace by the air traffic control service (NATS).

Miley Cyrus is unable to attend the UK premiere of her latest film The Last Song due to a volcanic ash cloud.
Cyrus, co-star Liam Hemsworth were due to debut the movie at Leicester Square's Empire cinema tomorrow, but eruptions from Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull volcano have prevented the stars from getting flights out of the US. The Last Song opens in UK cinemas on April 30.

Teenage fans of the pop star Miley Cyrus could face disappointment if British airspace remains closed until Tuesday evening. The star of Hannah Montana was due to appear at the London premiere of her new film The Last Song, but Disney said that she was still in America and unable to fly.
